Jean Isobelle Melzer (born 7 February 1926) was an Australian Senator representing the Australian Labor Party and the state of Victoria. She was elected on 18 May 1974 she served two terms,[1] she was defeated at 1980 elections as she was placed third on the Labor ticket.[2] Her final term ended on 30 June 1981.[1]

She also stood as the lead Victorian senate candidate for the Nuclear Disarmament Party in the 1984 election. She received 7.1% of the vote, but no seat.[3]

Jean Melzer has been the president of U3A Network Victoria.[4][5]
